2017 Christmas Card! 

I have been very actively painting now for the upcoming Wilton, CT show at the Wilton Historical Society November 3-5, 2017.  This is a quick view of my snow piece for this show.  See link below. 

 

I choose a beautiful wide piece of reclaimed wood from a barn in Lancaster County to repurpose into a very nice one-of-a-kind frame.  The elderly gentleman was Amish and took great pride in his workmanship, even signing the frame - smile. 

Loving the little snowman in the back left side.  I love the idea of skating with a campfire and carolers.  It would seem to me that this painting has all the holidays in mind.  

I have the little Christmas Tree on the sled,  and the snowfall is making me think  of the Thanksgiving holiday.  I love a white Thanksgiving. 

And not to be overlooked, the little guy on the sled carrying a holiday pumpkin.  

I have never done this previously, but I decided to identify myself in this painting.  I am the girl in the purple dress up and center! 

I double signed this piece, do you see it!  It was so my Christmas Card had a signature.  I later removed this second signature. 

Finally, here's the piece in its entirety.  I really love the richness of this colors of this.  At this time, this will be my  only snow scene available.  I seem to be having some obstacles getting ready for this show.  All pieces are one of a kind and not mass made in any fashion! MADE IN USA!!! 

Love these striped socks...uhh.

Snow Taxi Mermaid Painting photographed in its new home

Snow Taxi is installed in a beautiful New England Home! 

Snow Taxi 

It is not often that I receive beautiful photographs of pieces that I have painted installed in their new home.  I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see this painting hanging in such a beautiful home.  It evokes feelings of thankfulness in me.  

I love this mantle and the color it is painted.  

Can you imagine what the rest of this house must look like?  This green is so soothing and I love her simple decorations that she has on the mantle.

The elegance of the chandelier really compliments this room 

You can tell that this lovely room is probably decorated for the change of each season.  I admire such forethought and careful planning.  

WOW, love the highboy, too.  The platters look so pretty and stand out against the warm brown tones of the piece.  Everything is simply beautiful.  Love it all! 

I am sure that Thanksgiving will be a wonderful event in this home.  Thanks so much for sharing these pictures with me and the lucky audience that happens upon them!

Having Fun in the Hay! 

This is an OLDIE but sweet one.  I painted this back in 1989-90 and it was the very first LARGE landscape that I had ever printed Lithograph style.  I don't believe that they are available any longer at Spicher and Co.  It is very primitive.  It is very Early Kolene, too!

I was fascinated back then with farmwife.  My husband's family was from western PA and they had a milking farm.  We would go there quite regularly and literally jump 15 feet off of a hay loft onto a pile of hay below that was about 10' wide.  That was back when I had no reservations about anything.  It was pre-lemons, when everything was fun and there weren't sour circumstances or any issues with anything (health).  Life is still so good, and I am thankful~so very thankful.  I still have some tough hiccups but  have learned to embrace them and turn them into "fun in the hay."

One cool thing ~ this print came from my husband's grandmother's home.  It is in virtually perfect condition, and surprisingly, it is an artist proof.  We gave it to them 20 years ago as a gift.  She needed to move and so I re-acquired this print and it is now for sale on ETSY. 

I love this little guy asleep, too and the little dog with his raised paw.  I love the primitive style of the horses.  

One thing that I might have done differently…I would have used a ruler to go around the print so that it was plum and straight.  There's a pencil line, too,  that was used to separate the print from the white and this is a little problematic for my eye.  It is not very straight.  But, alas, I was learning.  Pencil lines were never ever plum for me.  My dad was a carpenter and he loved to point out my crooked lines…SMACK! JK

HERE is where I came up with the title "Fun in the Hay" because these little guys are def having some fun.  You know what, so are the people resting.  Resting is fun!  Take care and thanks for looking at this!

Winter Scene

A Very Festive Snow Scene

Fifteen years ago, back in 1995, my husband and I decided that we would print some cards.  I had about 21 different styles.  It was a very exciting time for me because I was just getting started in the whole art world and was really new to the idea of printing anything. We opened our doors in 1992.   I started with paintings, of course, that were one-of-a-kind and then branched out from there.  This was one of the first that I decided to print.  I remember TO THIS DAY the show that I sold the painting at in Valley Forge.  It feels like so long ago, but as fast as time flies, I guess it's only 15 years.

We found a box in our warehouse with about 30-35 packs of various card designs, and I thought I'd keep a few packs of 5 and sell the rest on my Etsy.

You can check it out if you are interested in buying some of what remains.  There are 15 packs as of today, and I am selling them for $15 a 5 pack.  

They are bundled in 5s with one envelope per card.

I paint in many styles, as some of you have come to know, on February 10, 2014, I posted a different type of winter scene.  It is sort of fun to compare the different styles.  One is much more whimsical then the other.  I still like the older style, it's just fun to mix things up a bit!
