Only Mermaids

Mermaid, Mermaid on the wall, Who's the fairest of them all? 

Sorry about the Resolution on this one! 

I have some mermaids going out the door this afternoon, and I thought it would be fun to post a bunch of different ones that I have painted over the years. 

This one is in my personal master bath area

I painted this years ago for Nantucket Country!  This is a huge print of my work.  I love to look at it over the tub.  It just seems to go well.  Check out the Spicher and Company Vintage Vinyl floor covering! (Above). 

Again a little blurry! This says "Pray Fish!"

I cannot honestly tell you when I did this.  It goes way back.   I happened to keep this one because I liked it.  I have had it for years.  I loved her tail, especially! 

I have this one for sale on ETSY.  I think it might need a different frame… 

These two are going out soon!  They both are sold, bottom one is a print! "Nantucket Stroll!"  Let me know if you want a print of any of these.  I don't have the one with the two girls directly above.  

This one might just be my favorite!  One of my favorite customers bought her, too.  Things that I love…The tail, the body language, and the message!  "A new Beginning!"

Mermaids on Cape Cod 

Love this frame and love this painting!  This will be one of my premier pieces that I will show this next weekend! 

Titled, "No After Dark Frolicking" 

What can I say, another mermaid scene.  My show wouldn't be complete without one, either.  So I had to do two.

Sweet Summer Breeze, Moonlight on Cape Cod 

This is a play on the last sentence of  "Moonlight in Vermont".  I kept thinking about that song as I painted it and so I decided to look up the lyrics.  The last sentence was perfect!  I exchanged Cape Cod for Vermont!

MERMAID on a Barrel of RUM 

Remember this one?  I decided that it had to be reframed.  This is a shadow box type frame and is one of a kind-almost. 

You have to see it to understand how neat the frame is.

The colors are more correct on this one than the top pic. 

MERMAID MAN

I didn't know what to call him.  He's really a man with a tail on (for the picture).  

This is going to be framed in a shadow box style.  Can you see his feet? The tail comes off!

Look at the name of this painting! 

First dates can really be terrible.  I had one bad one…haha.  This guy looks like he's willing to do what it takes to make his Fish Lady happy!

Love the sign.

This painting was formatted for a beautiful long frame that I felt a mermaid or a whale would go great in.  But there's an issue with the frame, it's not wide enough; and I sort of hate to cut off her tail…  This is one of those times that I could use a little advice.  

When I was in Atlanta, GA this last month, I went to a little restaurant that is situated beneath the Hilton Hotel in Atlanta.   Many of you probably have never heard of it; it's called Trader VIC's.  It is an Hawaiian Style restaurant specializing in the most amazing dishes and drinks.  There are only two left in the United States.  One is in downtown Atlanta and the other is…I'm not sure where, maybe Hawaii or California.  Nevertheless, my trip to Atlanta for the gift show is not complete without a stop at Trader Vic's.  This mermaid is in memory of this restaurant that I love.  

According to Trader Vic, Rum played an important part in molding empires (Don't ask me how).  Vic has some great drinks to show for it, too.  I like the Mai Tai and their Mohito!  I think this barrel of rum makes for an interesting painting.  Having my mermaid sit upon it is just funny. 

My favorite part of this mermaid is her hair.  

Mermaids have to have beautiful hair.  It is required in the code.  

Lastly, here she is in the pretty walnut frame.  If you think I should not cut her tail off or if you think it is okay, let me know your thoughts (if you feel like it).  She will be for my fall show!  I posted about it a few days ago!
