The Final two Windows

A Hotel room with a view 

I can't paint windows without including a window from a hotel.  When I visited Paris, I was transfixed with the view.  It was so gorgeous with the rivers and 

Eiffel Tower and all the architectural details, total feast for the eyes!  

I tore the edges on these windows so that I can
mount them on some beautiful paper.  I will frames them all the same size. 

I loved the idea of having a window with a topiary.  When I was in Paris, there were many topiary trees with beautiful bases.  They were lining the streets, some of them had flowers, but they were all well done and maintained.  SO MUCH FUN.  

This one is my favorite, I think.  I love all the action and the colors with the little boat.  The birds add some whimsy.  

I wish that I had 10 of these frames, but I do not.  I am going to take them to a framer and get another opinion about how they should be framed.  If anyone has any suggestions, Please message me.  I welcome the feedback.

This was a fun project.  It was time-consuming, but that is okay.  It is very rewarding to have something that is complete and detailed.  I will have one more post that will include how I decided to frame these.

Teacups for High Point Wholesale Market

Pen and Ink style Teacups for the Kitchen

This is something fun and different for me.  It's hard to say which one that I like better.  Truthfully, I think they all look 

well together.  Buy them all! 

Love the red ship! 

I think that this one looks the most like the style that you are accustomed to reading about on this blog.  I Like it, but I also equally like the more graphic versions, too. 

My favorite cup is the polka dotted one! 

I really think this one is my favorite.  I can't say why.  Maybe it's the rich red colors.  I wish that I had a set of dishes to match these designs.  Imagine a big dinner plate with those white polka dots with a red background! 

Love the flow blue! 

There's something pretty about stacking cups.  Have you ever noticed how beautiful teacups look in your cupboard if they are stacked?  The tricky part is getting them out of there without knocking the whole stack over!  It happens. 

The graphic one on the bottom looks so neat with the black polka dots! 

I love the teal/turquoise quality of this example and love the white cup on the bottom! 

Spring! 

This reminds me of spring! Spring, please come! 

Love the orange!  A nice splash of color! 

This set is fun, too.  I like the silhouette of the black cup on the top.  The Silhouetted cup is really what makes the set fun and different.

ROSES in an Urn - Primitive 19th Century Reproductiion

Pen and Ink Style Reproduction Flower Painting

Today, I decided to talk about this little painting.  I just love primitive folk art and I really like to 'invent' my own thing.  If someone else is doing it, I shy away.  This particular piece was painted on paper and is behind ANTIQUE glass.  Each step of this piece was important to achieving the 'overall' look of the painting.  

Antique Lemon Gold Frame

Even the little pinstripe that I painted along the edge just adds to this picture.  I am typically not a plumb sort of girl--things are usually out of level.  Having married a carpenter and having a dad as a carpenter, makes me at the least TRY to paint straight.  Because they make fun of me if it's crooked.   I spent some time on this edge (in other words).  I love the lemon gold frame.  I usually buy them when I see them.  If there is antique glass in it, all the better! 

LOVE THE HOLE

I folded this paper and did my thing that I always like to do--distress the H E double toothpicks out of it.  I sometimes don't know when to stop--downside. 

In this shot you sort of get an idea of the scale of the piece.  Take a look at that banana.  You can see that this is about 2 1/2 bananas high and 2 bananas wide.  Now I am sounding like a monkey.

Another Urn painting 

In this style, I chose to do mostly black and white ink.  It still has that primitive feel but is really not as 'serious' of a painting.  It is fun and stylistic and even contemporary.  This is also sold.  I included it so that you can see some of the various styles that I like to experiment within.  I actually blogged about this painting on February 8, 2014 if you want to look it up!

I hope you have enjoyed today's post.  It takes a lot of my morning each day doing it, but I really enjoy it and it makes me happy--that's the goal.
